Since midsummer 2007, the neighbourhood wardens have been part of the Steyning and Upper Beeding, Local Action Team (LAT), with representatives from police, local councils, school, housing authority, youth service and chamber of trade.

All of us involved believe in the team approach - sharing information and ideas, and supporting each other both in terms of enforcement and in creating a range of activities which offer alternatives to anti social behaviour which so easily blights the life of a local community. We are working to establish a culture of responsibility in which young people, their parents and guardians work with us and members of the local community to form a consensus on what is right and acceptable behaviour.

One of our aims is to develop diversionary activities for the local youths so that we can tackle anti-social behaviour in the area.
