The Steyning Junior Wardens were given an official tour of Steyning Fire station This afternoon ( many thanks to Rich and Tony) it was a great experience to see exactly what happens after 999 is dialled how the firecrew are notified and how quickly they get to the station and changed and away. It was also great to see all the equipment on the fire appliance and to have a go with the hoses ! ! Pictures of the visit are in the junior warden gallery.

The Junior wardens began work on the planters and small garden area at Steyning firestation; each child will have their own planter to decorate and maintain to help make the firestation brighter!  This is as a thankyou to the fire service for allowing us to use the station as a base for our get togethers.  We are also being given an official tour of the firestation on November the 3rd by firefighters to learn what the equipment does and is used for and have a look around the fire truck.

The Steyning Junior Wardens began work in the area when they carried out a litter pick around Steyning on Monday the 29th September, following a path from St Andrews Primary School through Steyning, stopping for refreshments at the Fire Station and then working our way back to school. Three full bin bags of litter were collected which was great work, but we hope not to be able to find as much next time !! Thanks to the Steyning Fire Service for allowing us to use the fire station as a base for refreshments etc.
